Statement as of 3:49 PM AKST on November 23, 2009 ... Wind Advisory in effect from 9 am to 6 PM akst Tuesday... The National Weather Service in Juneau has issued a Wind Advisory... which is in effect from 9 am to 6 PM akst Tuesday. A weather front will approach the outer coast tomorrow morning and generate strong southeasterly winds over the advisory area. Strongest winds and wind gusts will be in channeled terrain vulnerable to a southeast wind. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Advisory means that sustained wind speed or frequent gusts will occur between 40 and 60 mph. This statement will be updated by 1100 PM akst tonight or sooner if conditions warrant.
