A coastal Flood Warning remains in effect from 6 am this morning
to 6 PM akst Thursday.
Major coastal flooding is expected to develop this afternoon and
continue into Thursday. Sea levels will rise today and be 8 to
9 feet above normal from late this afternoon through much of
Thursday. Additionally... strong west winds will generate high
waves. The high water and high waves could push sea ice on to shore.
Wave driven sea ice can cause great damage to structures. Coastal
flooding is expected in all low lying areas along the coast.
Wave driven sea ice can cause great damage to structures. Anything
that can be moved away from the coast should be moved now. People
are urged to prepare for this storm now if they have not already
done so.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...

should take precautions now to protect life and property. This

eastern Norton Sound. People in low lying villages in this area
should make plans now to move to higher ground. Heavy snow and
blizzard conditions are expected to develop today and continue tonight.
