Rain and snow is likely this morning... changing to all snow in the afternoon. Snow will continue tonight. Additional snowfall up to 3 inches is expected today with storm total up to 6 inches. Strong winds will continue through tonight. Occasional blizzard conditions are expected through tonight with visibility one quarter mile or less in snow and blowing snow. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Storm Warning means significant winter weather hazards are expected. This will make travel and outdoor activity very hazardous.

Statement as of 6:46 AM AKST on November 11, 2009 ... Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 6 PM akst Thursday... A coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 6 PM akst Thursday. Coastal flooding is expected to develop today and continue through Thursday. Tides of 4 to 7 feet above normal are expected. Coastal flooding is expected in all low lying areas. The high water and high waves could push sea ice on shore. Wave driven sea ice can cause great damage to structures. Anything that can be moved away from the coast should be moved now. Heavy snow and blizzard conditions will accompany this storm today and tonight so preparations should be made now. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A coastal Flood Warning means that rising sea water that causes flooding is expected. Coastal residents in the warned area should be alert for rising water... and take actions to protect life and property.
