The first measurable snow of the season for the Anchorage NWS forecast office occurred overnight Sunday night. The snow started around 6 PM on the 8th and ended around 4 am on the 9th.
This was among the latest first measurable snowfalls on record for Anchorage. The latest first measurable snowfall on record was November 13 (2002)... so Anchorage was only five days away from this record.
Light snowfall is in the forecast for Monday night... with another good chance of snow late Wednesday.
