A strong weather front moved through southcentral Alaska yesterday bringing snow and wind to the region. Peak winds from this event were measured at Glen Alps with a gust of 82 mph while McHugh Creek... along Turnagain Arm... reported a peak gust of 81 mph. Most of Anchorage experienced winds 20 to 30 mph while ted Stevens international Airport had the strongest gust in town at 47 mph at about 1 PM.
