A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM akst this evening. A
high wind watch remains in effect from Friday evening through
Saturday morning.
A nearby cold front will continue to move through the southern
Panhandle early this evening and generate southeast winds 20 to
30 mph with gusts to around 45 mph. Winds will abruptly diminish
and shift to the west and northwest as the front passes by 6 PM.
A strong low pressure center will track north into the Gulf of
Alaska Friday and send a strong weather front through the
Panhandle Fri night and early Saturday. Gusts as high as
60 mph are likely beginning Friday evening and could occur
as late as noon Saturday.
