Statement as of 6:00 am AKST on November 12, 2009 ... Winter storm brought windy and snowy conditions to southcentral Alaska yesterday... A strong weather front moved through southcentral Alaska yesterday bringing snow and wind to the region. Peak winds from this event were measured at Glen Alps with a gust of 82 mph while McHugh Creek... along Turnagain Arm... reported a peak gust of 81 mph. Most of Anchorage experienced winds 20 to 30 mph while ted Stevens international Airport had the strongest gust in town at 47 mph at about 1 PM. Some of the snow totals around the area are listed below... Susitna Valley... 1. Chulitna 14.0" 2. Nancy Lake Recreation Area 12.0" 3. Trapper Lake area 6.5" to 8.5" 4. North face Mt Susitna 7.0" 5.
