strong wind this morning along the western CAPES and Alaska Peninsula... Gusty west winds 35 to 45 mph will continue this morning...mainly west of Togiak and along the Alaska Peninsula. The strong gusts are expected to die off this afternoon. Current radar indicates snow showers moving over the western areas near Cape Newenham and over the kilbucks...with more snow showers pushing into Bristol and Kvichak Bay. These showers are moving ashore over the Nushagak and eastern peninsula between Pilot Point and King Salmon. Snow showers will continue across the area through this afternoon.

Numerous snow showers. Snow accumulation up to 1 inch. Highs around 30. Southwest wind 10 to 25 mph. Gusts to 45 mph in the morning along the western CAPES and Alaska Peninsula.
Snow likely in the evening...then a chance of snow after midnight. Snow accumulation up to 1 inch. Lows 10 to 15 above except in the 20s along the western CAPES and Alaska Peninsula. West wind 10 to 20 mph.

Mostly cloudy. A chance of snow in the morning...then scattered snow showers in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 20s except in the lower 30s along the western CAPES and Alaska Peninsula. Northeast wind 10 to 20 mph.

... Winter storm brought windy and snowy conditions to southcentral Alaska yesterday...
A strong weather front moved through southcentral Alaska yesterday bringing snow and wind to the region. Peak winds from this event were measured at Glen Alps with a gust of 82 mph while McHugh Creek... along Turnagain Arm... reported a peak gust of 81 mph. Most of Anchorage experienced winds 20 to 30 mph while ted Stevens international Airport had the strongest gust in town at 47 mph at about 1 PM.
