Snow tapering off on Saint Lawrence Island...snow along the Bering Strait coast. Areas of fog and blowing snow. Snow accumulation up to 3 inches...mainly along the Bering Strait coast. Lows 15 to 20. Northwest winds 35 to 50 mph.
Thursday
Snow showers near the Bering Strait. Scattered snow showers on Saint Lawrence Island. Areas of fog and blowing snow. Snow accumulation to 2 inches...mainly on the Bering Strait coast. Highs around 25. Northwest winds around 40 mph diminishing to around 25 mph after noon.

Heavy snow... strong winds and blizzard conditions will continue through tonight. Snowfall totals up to 8 inches are expected through tonight. Visibility will be one quarter mile or less at times due to snow and blowing snow.

A coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 6 PM akst Thursday.
Minor coastal flooding in low lying areas is expected to continue through Thursday. Tides of 2 above normal are expected. Significant erosion is expected on northwest facing coastlines through Thursday when the strong northwest winds push the waves onshore. This could affect Gambell... Savoonga... Wales and Little Diomede.
The high water and high waves could push sea ice ashore on the Bering Strait coast. Wave driven sea ice can cause great damage to structures
