Flood Warning
Statement as of 11:06 AM CST on November 12, 2009
The Flood Warning continues for
the Mississippi River at Baton Rouge.
* From Saturday evening to late Sunday night... or until the warning
is cancelled.
* At 10:00 am Thursday the stage was 34.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 35.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river is expected to rise to near flood stage by
late tonight and then begin falling by late Friday evening. The
river is expected to fall to around 34.0 feet by next Tuesday.
* Impact... at 35.0 feet... river islands from Red River Landing
downstram to Baton Rouge will be inundated.
1106 am CST Thu Nov 12 2009
The Flood Warning continues for
the Mississippi River at Red River Landing.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 10:00 am Thursday the stage was 51.6 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 48.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river is currently cresting and is expected to
begin falling by late tonight. This river is expected to fall to
around 50.2 feet by next Tuesday.
* Impact... at 51.0 feet... all river islands along The Reach from Red
River Landing to Baton Rouge will be inundated. Recreational camps
and river bottom farm land will be under water.
