Tropical Weather: Invest 94 (North Atlantic) Hurricane Bud (East Pacific) Typhoon Sanvu (Western Pacific)
Weather Summary
Weather Underground Forecast for Friday, May 25, 2012.

Typhoon Sanvu, will remain to the southwest of Japan on Friday. The system will maintain Category 1 strength as it begins to curve northeastward through the Philippine Sea during the day. As the system progresses northeastward, it will encounter increased wind shear and cooler sea surface temperatures. This will allow the system to transition from a Category 1 storm into a tropical storm by Saturday. For more information on Typhoon Sanvu, please visit http://www.wundergound.com/tropical.

To the northwest of this system, onshore winds winds will create increased cloud over across northern Honshu and Hokkaido. Expect chances of light showers to develop across the area by Saturday with chances of thunderstorms in Hokkaido.

To the east, lingering low pressure in northeastern China and southeastern Russia will maintain chances of showers in Heilongjiang, north of Harbin. To the south, generally dry and calm conditions continue across the Korean Peninsula and east-central China with little change in temperatures. Further south, moisture pooling along a nearly stationary frontal boundary extending across the southeastern provinces of China will maintain widely scattered showers and chances of thunderstorms from Yunnan through Zhejiang. Rain is expected to spread into Shanghai and the East China Sea throughout the day.

For Australia, a trough of low pressure will dominate the eastern regions of the nation with unsettled weather activity on Friday. The trough will support a low pressure system moving through Victoria and New South Wales into the Tasman Sea. The system will carry a significant amount of moisture, allowing for widely scattered light to moderate rain showers. Significant rain will also follow and associated cold front across the New South Wales and Queensland coasts as it moves into the Tasman Sea. Behind this activity , high pressure spreads across the nation as the it moves into the Great Australian Bight, Expect chances of light showers in southeastern South Australia throughout this transition.
