Weather Underground Forecast for Thursday, May 24, 2012.

Tropical Storm Sanvu will most likely become a typhoon by Thursday, but is expected to remain well out to sea. The storm should stay a minimal throughout its life, never exceeding category 1 on the Saffir Simpson intensity scale. The storm is expected to create large large seas, some of which will reach the shores of Asia, but other effects are not likely.

Japan will see clearing conditions in the north as a weak area of low pressure moves out into the Pacific. Temperatures over the island will remain similar.

On the Asian mainland. Southern China will continue to see wet weather south of Shanghai, with mostly clear conditions in the Northeast.

Southeast Asia through Indonesia will continue to see rainy weather, with heavy rainfall expected to be scattered throughout the Islands. The Philippines will see similar conditions.

India is expected to remain mostly hot and dry, though some wet weather will develop in the southern region.

Australia will see some wet weather in the east as a trough moves into South Australia. Thunderstorms will spread throughout the state, with more widespread rain expected in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. The western portion of the country will be dry.
