Weather Underground Forecast for Tuesday, May 22, 2012. Unsettled weather conditions will continue across central, mainland Europe on Tuesday as a storm system continues to trek through the region. The system will begin the day spanning from France through the Netherlands and eastward through Serbia and Hungary, before an associated cold front spreads activity into the southeastern countries of the continent during the day. Significant moisture will accompany this system and will allow for widely scattered showers and areas of moderate to heavy rain with clusters of thunderstorms to form across these countries. Several inches of rain are likely in these areas. In addition to rain, strong winds are expected throughout these countries especially from Austria through Croatia.

Behind this activity, a low pressure system churning in the North Atlantic, just west of the British Isles, will usher a warm front toward Ireland. Limited moisture with this front will only create increased cloud cover and chances of light precipitation through the day. More pleasant weather is anticipated in the rest of the British Isles as high pressure builds across the Iberian Peninsula and the United Kingdom. Expect milder daytime highs across these areas as this system noses northward.

Elsewhere, weak disturbances may kick up a few light patchy showers in Norway and the Baltic States.
