Weather Underground Forecast for Monday, May 21, 2012. A major storm system will move through the middle portion of the continent on Monday. The storm will begin the day stretched from Netherlands through Italy before moving very slowly eastward throughout the day. This storm will carry a significant amount of moisture that will produce areas of moderate to heavy rain in Italy in the morning and southern France in the afternoon and evening. Several inches of rain are likely in these areas. In addition light to moderate rain is anticipated for the Adriatic countries as well as into western Germany.

The secondary effect of this storm system will be the strong winds it will produce. Intense winds are possible through France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany and Italy. These winds could be damaging and will accompany heavy rain at times.

The United Kingdom will remain dry but mild as it will be between the aforementioned storm in the middle of the continent and another storm in the Atlantic Ocean.

Showers are possible in the Baltic States as a weak front moves through the area. Rain will generally be light to moderate from Lithuania through the Gulf of Finland.

Generally mild conditions are expected for much of the continent with the warmest weather anticipated from Greece through Romania.

London will rise into the lower 60s(F)/upper 10s(C), while Paris will see temperatures in the upper 60s(F)/lower 20s(C). Moscow will rise into the lower 80s(F)/upper 20s(C).
