Surf along east facing shores will be 3 feet or less through early 
Saturday...then will increase to 2 to 5 feet late Saturday.

Surf along south facing shores will be 2 to 4 feet through Saturday. 

Surf along west facing shores will be 5 to 8 feet through Saturday.

Surf along north facing shores will be 6 to 10 feet through Saturday.

Outlook through Thursday September 3:
a building west-northwest swell will continue into Saturday before 
gradually diminishing. Swell produced by Hurricane Ignacio may 
increase surf to the high surf advisory criteria along east facing 
shores later this weekend. Surf may reach the high surf warning 
threshold along east facing shores early next week. The timing and 
size of this hurricane swell remains uncertain at this time since it 
depends on the track and strength of the system as it approaches the 

Surf heights are forecast heights of the face or front of waves. The
surf forecast is based on the significant wave height...the average
height of the one third largest the locations of the 
largest breakers. Some waves may be more than twice as high as the
significant wave height. Expect to encounter rip currents in or near
any surf zone.
