Short term...today through Thursday. Current water vapor imagery
shows our area under high pressure ridging with an low spinning
over Alaska. Models show this low to move over northern Idaho
late Wednesday into Thursday. Expect scattered showers and
isolated thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday evening
mainly over the central mountains...Pahsimeroi Mountains and
eastern Highlands with lingering light showers over the eastern
Highlands through Thursday morning. Expect snow levels to start
around 10000 feet before dropping to around 8000 feet by the end
of the period. Only around 1 inch of snow above 10000 feet is
expected. Models are showing less showers from the previous model
run on Thursday with weak high pressure ridging. Expect above
average temperatures through the period. Wyatt

Long term...Thursday night through Monday. Somewhat unsettled in the
long term period. Have at least a slight chance of chance of
showers and thunderstorms daily...mainly in high elevations. Both
European and GFS drive through an upper level system in the Friday
to Saturday time period. GFS is stronger with a wetter solution
while European moves it through quicker with less precipitation.
Have highest probability of precipitation in the Friday through Saturday time period. Both
are drier Sunday into Monday and reflected this on grids cutting
back precipitation chances a bit.
