Area forecast discussion
National Weather Service Norman OK
227 PM CST sun Nov 29 2015

rain continues to slowly shift east this afternoon. Light rain
chances will continue tonight as upper low finally starts to shift
into the plains. However... models and water vapor show drier air at
middle/upper levels moving into the region while low levels remain rather
saturated so drizzle could become the predominate precipitation
overnight into Monday morning. Patchy fog will also be possible
tonight. Temperatures are expected to remain fairly steady overnight so
much of the forecast area is expected to remain above freezing... except in northwest
parts of the forecast area where temperatures will likely stay at or just below
freezing through the night. This means that some light freezing
rain/freezing drizzle will be possible. Little to no accumulation is
expected so will hold off on any winter headlines for now.
However... if the freezing drizzle/fog becomes heavier than
expected... a light glazing may occur.

The precipitation is expected to end late Monday morning. Drier air
will move into the region behind a cold front that will move across
the area Monday afternoon/evening. This front will slow down the
warm up in northern parts of the forecast area but temperatures are still expected to
climb into the 40s and 50s across the area. Another front is
expected Tuesday as a shortwave rotates into the Southern Plains
around the upper low. After that southerly winds will return to the
region and temperatures will begin to gradually warm through the
rest of the week. Models then show an upper low moving across the
central/Southern Plains that could bring a low chance for rain to
parts of the forecast area next weekend.
